I've always wanted a blog to track everything going through my mind and happening in my life. So what push me to finally set up my blogger? I just finished taking advantage of $975 worth of credit/debit card promotions and I need space on the internet to track these sort of things:
- $500 (50k points) after spending $1000 in 3 months - Amex Gold Rewards Premier Card
- $200 after 1st purchase - NFL card from Barclays (x2)
- $25 Amex gc for loading a prepaid card with $200 (x3)
I'm not doing anything illegal, I can redeem multiple offers because I collaborate with my parents :)
Furthermore, I am finally getting through the R&D phase of my service startup Bay Savee. I'm scheduling appointments to meet with local independent business owners in the Bay Area Cali (are there other bay areas in the world?) and I want to track this progress as well.
I decided to name this blog Shift Local to further expand Shift Local on Wordpress that my girlfriend and I started. However, I want to explore more controversial issues related to corporate America, free market, capitalism etc. The rising inequality we're dealing with began with what made America so wealthy. Sad indeed. However if every individual that belongs to the 99% were to shift some of their spending budget away from big-box retailers (Walmart) and online behemoths (Amazon) then we can create more wealth for the communities we reside in.
I have no idea how to find an audience but starting this blog will force me to figure it out. If you follow me I'll follow back (as long as you're not a bot) that's my philosophy because I acknowledge those who care to follow what I have to say regardless of what their blog is about.
